As we continue our series celebrating the incredible contributions of women in technology, we take a moment to hear from some more inspiring voices. Their journeys reflect not only the passion for innovation but also a deep commitment to making technology an inclusive, empowering space for everyone.

Sarah Cotton: A Vision to Empower Through Technology
Sarah’s career path into technology was shaped by years of experience in the telecommunications and financial enterprise sectors, where customer experience and sales were at the forefront of her work. “Moving into the technology space was an exciting shift for me—I saw it as a way to deliver impactful solutions not just to large enterprises, but to smaller organisations where digital transformation can be the difference between growth and stagnation,” Sarah shares.
Her core values are grounded in a desire to make the world a better place, particularly for women and children. As a mother, she envisions a future where her children can see no boundaries in the opportunities available to them, regardless of gender. Sarah is especially passionate about creating environments where women are empowered to step into leadership roles, break barriers, and embrace innovation. “I believe in empowering people—whether it’s through technology, education, or breaking barriers,” she adds.
Reflecting on women’s representation in technology, Sarah highlights the tremendous progress, noting, “The narrative has shifted—we’re no longer asking if women can be in tech, but how we can continue to drive inclusivity, mentorship, and equal opportunities in this space.”

Alice Turnbull: Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators by Example
Alice kick started her career in the events industry before pursuing her passion for marketing and hasn't looked back. Since starting with Rosterfy five years ago she has played a pivotal role in growing the organisations brand and is passionate about using marketing to deliver engaging content with clear and consistent messaging that cuts through the market. While juggling motherhood with a career, Alice is passionate about empowering women to reach their fullest potential and understands the importance of women being represented across all levels of leadership, especially for the next generation of innovators. "I love that we’re now seeing women represented across all levels of leadership. I tell my children that they can be whoever they want to be but seeing is believing. It’s so important for little girls to grow up seeing confident and inspiring women in leadership. That is now a reality and something I’m proud to be a part of.

Jess Bordin: From Start-ups to Scaleups – Embracing the Tech Journey
For Jess, joining a tech start-up in 2018 marked the beginning of a fulfilling career in the industry. “I was the 5th employee and joined before the company had even launched,” she recalls. “The two years after that were the most fun I'd ever had in terms of my career, growth, and marketing learning curve.” Now, as the Digital Marketing Manager at Rosterfy, Jess is back in the tech scale-up space, eager to dive into volunteer management and make an impact.
At the heart of Jess’s work lies her core value of understanding and being a good human. In both her personal and professional life, she believes that small acts of kindness can have a lasting effect on others. This extends to her approach to marketing, where truly understanding her audience and adapting language and tone is key to fostering authentic connections.
On women’s representation in tech, Jess is excited about the future. “Technology is an ever-growing space that I've always felt welcome in,” she says. “I've reported into women on multiple occasions, where those women are the ones who are getting up on stages and speaking about success across new product innovations or breakthroughs in new growth hacking models.” She’s excited to see more women leading the way and influencing the tech industry with their insights.
