We've pulled together this webinar with some real world examples of programmes who have greatly improved their volunteer recruitment against the backdrop of more challenging conditions.
Volunteer recruitment isn't getting easier
A part in the fabric of the communities around us are the people who offer their time, donations, skills, and passion towards events or causes they care about.
Despite an overwhelming urge to give back to causes that have helped them or to feel part of a community, many people can't find the time or resources to help. Organisations are finding it increasingly difficult to find supporters, so when they do it's essential they offer a seamless and rewarding experience.
In the first lesson of our Volunteer Management Masterclass we offer you the secrets to improving your recruitment strategy.
Covered in this lesson:
- Understanding what motivates people to join your programme in particular
- The reasons why people choose to volunteer
- Creating a more effective process for volunteer role applications
- Case Studies from successful volunteer programmes.
How to improve your volunteer recruitment today
Successful recruitment hinges on grasping the emotional ties volunteers have with your mission or event. By identifying who your volunteers are and what they seek from their volunteering experience, you can leverage this insight to advertise the roles within your programme.
What you need to find out:
- Who are your volunteers?
- Which demographics do they belong to?
- What are their motivations?
- Where can they be found?
Create impactful messages to inspire action
Once you understand more about the people attracted to your cause or event you can begin to build a communication and recruitment strategy around those motivations.
Successful volunteer programmes such as British Heart Foundation's 'My Volunteer' are able to serve up a range of roles and position them in an enticing and immediately engaging way by using this technique in combination with the Rosterfy Volunteer Portal.
