The Shift Calendar provides volunteers with a centralised place to find and apply to shifts across all events.
Overview
The Shift Calendar feature provides users with a comprehensive view of all available and upcoming shifts, enabling them to engage with these opportunities in a centralised location. This feature offers both monthly and weekly views of shifts, helping users effectively plan their schedules and select the shifts that best suit their needs.
When the Shift Calendar feature is enabled, the corresponding checkpoint permission for accessing the Shift Calendar will be automatically granted. However, administrators have the flexibility to adjust this permission, allowing them to either show or hide the Shift Calendar based on the user's checkpoint journey.
Shift Calendar in Volunteer Portal
Users who have the required checkpoint permission access to view the Shift Calendar will have the option available to them on the left side of the Volunteer Portal, allowing them to select between monthly, weekly or daily views to see and select their shifts.
Enabling / Disabling the Shift Calendar
The Shift Calendar access is controlled via checkpoint permissions.
To enabled/disable the Shift Calendar on a checkpoint permission, follow these simple instructions:
- Navigate to Workflows > Checkpoints.
- Locate the checkpoint you wish to update and click More Actions > Update.
Or click Create to create a new checkpoint. - On the Permissions tab, ensure Can apply to Event Shifts? is ticked.
- The permission for the Shift Calendar will now be shown, Can view Event Shifts calendar?, tick this to allow access to the Shift Calendar, or untick to remove access.
- Make any other required updates and press Save.
Once this Checkpoint is allocated to the user, they will be able to access the Shift Calendar.
