New Zealand Food Network Selects Rosterfy as Their Volunteer Management Solution

New Zealand Food Network, responsible for identifying, collecting and distributing bulk surplus and donated food has selected Rosterfy as their volunteer management solution.

The New Zealand Food Network (NZFN), an organisation dedicated to combating food waste and food insecurity across New Zealand, has selected Rosterfy as its volunteer management solution.

Established in 2020 with funding from the Ministry of Social Development, NZFN was set up as one simple solution to two major issues; good food going to waste and the rising rate of food insecurity. Working with major food producers and manufacturers NZFN identifies, collects and distributes bulk surplus and donated food to a nationwide network of 63 Food Hubs (organisations that provide food support to their community).

"Volunteers are integral to our operations, enabling us to efficiently distribute food to our Food Hubs and prevent edible surplus from reaching landfills," said Madi Walter, Marketing & Communications Manager at NZFN. "Before utilising Rosterfy, we managed volunteers manually, using a very basic scheduling tool which was not only time consuming but also didn’t allow much time for personalisation and engagement. We’re excited to use Rosterfy’s comprehensive software to allow us to streamline operations for both our traditional volunteers and corporations in a more sustainable manner.”

While NZFN will utilise Rosterfy to manage their traditional volunteers it will also be used to support its corporate volunteering program. Through the use of features including custom invitation links and forms as well as Rosterfy’s group management functionality, NZFN is excited to be able to segment their workforce and create custom and persoanlised experiences to suit their needs.

Rosterfy will also be used to help measure NZFN impact with previous manual data entry being replaced with post shift forms to help capture quantities of food packed by their volunteers. This data will be used to better reward and recognise both their traditional and corporate volunteers to deliver a more engaging experience all round.

Shannan Gove, Co Founder of Rosterfy said, “Organisations like New Zealand Food Network are such an incredible resource to the community. We’re proud to be able to support them in a small way by streamlining efficiencies and maximising engagement for their volunteers.”

“With corporate volunteering such a key component to many volunteering programs, nonprofits are always looking for ways in which to better engage with their corporates to drive volunteer registrations and engagement. Rosterfy’s ability to segment and create bespoke experiences for specific groups really sets us apart from our competitors so we’re excited to see what NZFN achieves using Rosterfy.” Shannan continued.

New Zealand Food Network are now live using Rosterfy. If you’re interested in learning more about their volunteer program, visit their website.
